2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Hong Kong Triathletes' Results
19 Aug 2008

Hong Kong Triathlete, Daniel Lee Chi-wo, finished the race today with final position of 43th out of 55 athletes.  He came off water in 49th position.  In the bike course, Daniel once moved himself up to the 34th position(1:17:46).  While in the last 10KM run, he couldn't break through and finished with a total time of 1:54:40.  The champion of Male event went to Frodeno Jan of Germany (1:48:53).

Another Hong Kong Olympian, Tania Mak So-ning, raced yesterday in her first appearance in Olympics Games.  She came off water in 54th position.  However, she could not finish after she was caught by the peloton in the final lap of the bike course.  Finally, gold medal went to Emma Snowsill who came from Australia (1:58:27).

Though both triathletes couldn't achieve their goals (Daniel: Be the first Asian Triathlete to finish the race; Tania: To finish the whole race) in Beijing Olympic Games, while it's already a break through to have two Hong Kong Triathletes to join the Games and race among many world champions. Hope that both of them and other Hong Kong triathletes will keep on trying their best to get spots in 2012 London Olympic Games and achieve good results then.
