Daniel Lee Chi Wo finished 3rd the ITU Yicheng International Triathlon this morning (ITU Points Ranking & Asian Continental Ranking Race). Jason Hsieh Chun Shing finished 28th and Dickson Tam Joe Dick finished overall 32nd.

Race Course:   Swim   2 loops x 750 m
                        Bike    8 loops x 5 km (flat)
                        Run    2 loops x 5 km (flat)

The field for the male competition was average with triathletes competing from 6 countries in the world.  (AUS, CHI, HKG, USA, NZL, NED)  Daniel had an average swim and came out of the water 19'36'', Dickson and Jason could swim better and finished swim part in 20'43'' and 21'11'' respectively.  During the first lap on bike was set up 3 major packs. Daniel stayed in second pack and during first 15km try to chase first pack were ride 9 athletes including strong competitors from AUS, USA and NZL. The gap between first and second pack stayed all the time same approximate 70''-80'', so Daniel decided to save energy for run and rest of the bike rode back of second pack.  Jason and Dickson rode in third pack with about 3' gap on second pack. Daniel started to chase the leader from beginning of the run and finally finished 27 sec. behind winner.

The female elite race, Tania Mak was finished in 12th (10th of Asian). Tania’s swim time: 23'20'' and started bike in second pack. After 25km second pack caught first and all women came together to T2. Tania left T2 on 12 position 12sec. behind leader.  Tania final time is 2:14'48'' (+5'32''). All Top 3 athletes are from China.

Two of Hong Kong Juniors athletes raced Elite Junior Sprint Distance Race (750m-1 loop, 20km-4 loops, 5km-1 loop): Alan Ho and Arthur Cheung. Both athletes showed good performance and after swim stayed in first group with 1 Chinese athlete. These three athletes started run altogether and Arthur Cheung finished second behind Chinese athlete and Alan Ho after struggling with stomach cramps came to finish line on 5th position.
